The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Aruba has recently launched a website dedicated to helping brides and grooms plan their dream Aruban wedding. The website offers a time-saving, one-stop shop with information about the property’s various venues, range of packages and information on the legalities governing Aruban wedding ceremonies. www.weddings.arubamarriott.com
Cambridge Beaches, Bermuda, has created a wedding package, which includes a bottle of Champagne upon arrival and Champagne at the ceremony, a private candlelit dinner on the beach, room-service breakfast on the morning after the ceremony, a spa pass with couple’s massage, a moped or kayak or bicycle hire, a photographer, wedding cake and bridal bouquet. The wedding package is available as an ‘add-on’ to any stay at the resort and prices are available upon request.
This year, Caribbean tour operator, Caribtours, is offering a number of free wedding packages as well as discounts on many other resorts and destination facilities. New offers for 2010 include:
- Couples Swept Away, Jamaica: Couples staying for more than seven nights will receive a complimentary wedding package whilst honeymooners will receive a complimentary room upgrade and a couple’s massage.
- Curtain Bluff, Antigua: All honeymooners will receive a complimentary bottle of Champagne, a romantic dinner in the Gazebo, a 30-minute head-to-toe couple’s massage and a complimentary room upgrade.
- LaSource, Grenada: Couples staying for seven nights or more will receive a complimentary wedding package whilst honeymooners will receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a couple’s massage.
140-acre Biras Creek Resort in Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands offers wedding ceremonies in various locations throughout the resort, including a lagoon-fringed private beach or a veranda overlooking the bay. The all-inclusive resort, which is accessible only by boat or helicopter, offers a “tropical wedding night” package which can be added to any stay for an additional $1,500 (approximately £957) and includes:
- Application for marriage licence
- Assistance with licence registration
- Registrar’s fee
- Wedding bouquet of tropical flowers for the bride-to-be
- Groom’s boutonniere
- Wedding cake
- Chilled bottle of Champagne
- Photographer and three rolls of film
- On-site wedding coordinator to assist with arrangements.

Expressions Honeymoons is offering a free wedding package worth over £500 to couples booking a minimum of 10 nights in a villa at Windjammer Landing, Saint Lucia, this year. The package includes, a wedding cake, decorated setting and in-room continental breakfast for the morning after the wedding. The hotel’s wedding planners are also available to discuss additional options. True Blue Bay Resort, Grenada is offering honeymooners a new experience for 2010 with the introduction of the new ‘Tie the knot on a yacht’ package. Couples select the ‘Yacht’ and the ‘Spot’: at a secluded island, a sandy beach or a tropical cove – whilst one of the professional captains will recommend the best places to anchor and celebrate. After the ceremony and reception, newlyweds can either spend the honeymoon on board the yacht to explore Grenadian coves and anchorages, or retreat to one of True Blue Bay’s suites.
Basic wedding packages are available from £1,725 and include:

Petit St. Vincent in St Vincent and the Grenadines is offering newlyweds a seven-night honeymoon special between 1 June and 31 July 2010. Starting from just £3,060 per couple on a full-board basis, including return boat transfers, the offer includes accommodation in a cottage on the two-mile beach, as well as daily afternoon tea, unlimited room service, Champagne on arrival, picnic for two on a secluded tropical island, massage for two in the privacy of the cottage or on the cottage patio, unlimited use of windsurfing equipment, sailing dinghies, kayaks and snorkelling equipment. In early 2010, the Beach Suites at Divi Aruba Phoenix are due for completion. The new development adds 140 suites to the existing 101 units at the resort. Aruba is offering honeymooning couples something new this year, with new full moon walking tours through its Arikok National Park. The monthly Moonlight Walks venture deep into the Dutch Caribbean island’s desert-like countryside to discover curious shapes and moonlight-shadows cast by the cacti and rock formations. Arikok National Park is home to a number of indigenous species of wildlife, flora and fauna characteristic of Aruba’s unique tropical desert climate. Historical sites can also be found within the park’s boundaries including Aruba’s famous caves, Fontein and Quadarikiri, which feature ancient Cacquetío Indian paintings. www.aruba.com
